1. If you’re into sushi inspired by SF local ingredients, you should go. Now. Make your reservation –> here.
2. If you’re feeling flexible with how much you want to spend on a sushi dinner, this is also the place to go. You’ll start at a minimum of $79 for the omakase, and you can also order dishes a la carte.
3. If you love hip hop and sushi then, what are you waiting for. This place has the perfect vibe for you.
As I’d put it, Robin is a good example of a “Millennial restaurant” – from the very Instagrammable logo to playing of Biggie tracks to the down-to-earth vibe of the chefs. They take a personal approach to the omakase experience, asking for your preferences on fish and price, and gauging your hunger level. They use local ingredients found in SF farmers markets and pair it with top-quality fish. They have nice sakes. They’re pickling things.
The aesthetic comes across as chill yet unique. The chairs are minimalistic yet comfy. The gold paint splashed and dripping against the grey wall stands out vividly – it always reminds me that they’re trying to make a mark in this sushi-filled city.
I loved every moment of my dining experience there, and readily admit that I fit into my Millennial box. If Robin represents the sushi restaurant of my generation, I would whole-heartedly agree.
And now, onto the food porn.
I decided not to post every single item that we got during this dinner so instead, I’ll leave it to the imagination. 🙂 The price of my menu was $120/person, and I went end of July.
Now, make the reservation already 🙂 –> here.
